Tier 1 assessment at Korokoro Wellhead 8

Giolee Global Resources Limited carried out a tier 1 assessment for Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) at Korokoro Wellhead 8 in Korokoro, Tai Local Government Area (L.G.A) of Rivers State. The site assessment involved delineating of lateral and vertical extents of hydrocarbon contamination, identification of potential contaminant linkages through development of a Conceptual Site Model (CSM), ascertaining the potential risks to human health and environment as well as recommendation of remedial action. The assessment was conducted in line with the SPDC Oil Spill Response and Remediation Management System (OSRRMS) and Department of Petroleum (DPR) Environmental Guidelines and Standards for the Petroleum Industry in Nigeria (EGASPIN), 2002.
