Tier 1 and 2 Site Assessment at Bonny Oil and Gas Terminal, Tank 9

Giolee Global Resources Limited was commissioned by Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) Nigeria Limited to carry out a Tier 1 and 2 Site Assessment at Bonny Oil and Gas Terminal, Tank 9, in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State. The site
is within the bund area of Tank 9, in a tank farm of over twenty (20) storage tanks. The specific objectives of the assessment included installation of boreholes, determining the concentration of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon (TPH), Polyaromatic hydrocarbon (PAH),
and volatile compounds (BTEX) in soil and ground water; evaluation of obtained results in line with DPR regulatory limits (target and intervention values) for contaminated soil and groundwater; assessing the risk to humans and the ecology; determining if remedial
measures are required for affected soil and/or ground water and proposing an action plan.
